William E. MacDonald, III retired as Vice Chairman of National City Corporation on December 31, 2006. During his 38 year career at the company he held a succession of management positions in the consumer, corporate banking and wealth management divisions, served as chief executive officer of National City’s lead bank in Ohio, and was responsible for the seven state regional banking businesses.
Mr. MacDonald received a BA degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. He holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Baldwin-Wallace College. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Lincoln Electric Company, American Greetings Corporation, and the Cleveland Clinic. Previously he has served on the boards of MTC Technologies and Lamson & Sessions.
