Based on a robust analysis of anonymous financial data, Segmint creates Key Lifestyle Indicators (or KLIs) to group similar types of individuals for the purpose of enhancing customer relationships and building business through highly targeted, high-value marketing. When the classification process is completed, Segmint provides the financial institution with the customized groupings and recommends offers that are compelling for both the financial institution and its customers. In some circumstances, these may include reward offers from third parties.

KLIs protect the anonymity of financial institution customers by creating groups of individuals who share common interests and characteristics. As a result, when financial institutions or third-party marketers provide offers to selected customers, they do not require or receive knowledge of who the individuals are in each KLI grouping.

Third-party rewards are compelling offers designed specifically for customers based upon their KLIs. A third-party reward is presented online to selected customers of a financial institution. Rewards are designed to match third-party offers with customers most likely to be interested in purchasing their services or products at a particular point in time.

Segmint partners with financial institutions to recognize trends, triggers and identifiers in the institution’s transaction data. Segmint does not obtain any Personally Identifiable Information. Instead, banks create unique, anonymous identifiers for each customer. Financial institutions periodically transfer transaction data and anonymous identifiers to Segmint via secure, encrypted data transfers.

Segmint collects this data in order to generate KLIs, which enable Segmint to group customers in unique ways, allowing banks to provide a more customized experience for their customers.

Segmint does not gather any Personally Identifiable Information about financial institution customers. Segmint will receive transaction information that is organized only by the anonymous identifier that each financial institution has created.

Segmint’s data is located in a secure facility to ensure state-of-the-art protection with multiple levels of both electronic and physical security. Within Segmint, only a select few technical and data security employees have access to the individual anonymous data records. Because Segmint does not receive any Personally Identifiable Information from financial institutions, no Segmint employee has access to any Personally Identifiable Information held by the financial institution.

Yes. The goal of Segmint’s products is to allow the financial institution to provide desirable offers to the ideal consumers at the appropriate time. Financial institutions have complete control over what offers are provided to which groups of consumers on their Web site.

Customer offers may appear in multiple places. They can appear on the online banking Web site of the financial institution where the customer has one or more accounts. Depending on the offer and the goal of the offer (for example, a financial institution seeking to acquire more customers), offers may also appear on Web sites other than a financial institution’s Web site; specifically on Web sites that are expected to appeal to customers who share one or more particular KLIs.

Once a financial institution has implemented Segmint’s software, it will have access to the KLIs of its customers. This information will enable a financial institution to deliver valuable financial institution and third-party offers to its customers at the time they are most likely to be of interest. Financial institution customers benefit by receiving offers or rewards that are more likely to meet their needs and are available to them only through their banking relationship.

Segmint is a data service provider to financial institutions and does not have direct contact with any individual consumers. Segmint provides suggestions of which offer(s) a financial institution should provide to customers with specific KLIs, but it is up to the financial institution to authorize the offer. As a result, it will be up to individual financial institutions to determine how they choose to notify their customers about how they make marketing offer selections.

The Segmint system makes recommendations of offers based on the KLIs of individual customers. Financial institutions must approve these suggestions prior to the offers being presented to customers on their site. Because Segmint does not interact directly with consumers or know what data records belong to which consumer, Segmint does not have a process by which consumers can select to receive or decline offers.

Customers will be able to utilize a financial institution’s existing Do Not Solicit policies and procedures to choose to be excluded from offers.

Segmint stores customer data in a remote data center which complies with industry certified security procedures.

Only Segmint team members with a need to know will see transaction data, and financial institutions only send anonymous identifiers and limited demographic information, so Segmint employees do not see any Personally Identifiable Information from financial institutions.

Yes. All Segmint team members work under a strict confidentiality contract and strong privacy policies.

Segmint keeps customer transaction data as long as it has a partnership with the customer’s financial institution. Segmint needs access to this data in order to create and modify KLIs. If a financial institution terminates its agreement with Segmint, then Segmint is contractually obligated to securely dispose of all of the transaction information obtained from that financial institution.
