Segmint Inc. is a privately owned Akron, Ohio based corporation. Its shareholders include company founders, management, business service partners and a small number of individual investors.
Information about the company’s officers and directors is available at www.segmint.com.
Segmint is a technology company with a pioneering new product, SegmintOne, that helps participating Financial Institutions (FIs) save their customers money and time. SegmintOne is a data processing, campaign management and message delivery software platform for FIs, and a media platform for marketers. SegmintOne enables FIs to use their own customer data anonymously to offer FI products and services to their customers and prospects, and reward customers for their loyalty through product and service offerings from the FI or third-party partners.
Segmint has U.S. and foreign patent applications pending for its proprietary privacy protection technology. This technology, utilized in SegmintOne, analyzes financial transactions, assigns Key Lifestyle Indicators® (KLIs), and provides timely and relevant offers to Financial Institutions’ customers within various channels, including online banking and other web sites – all without sharing individual financial or personal information.
Segmint creates Key Lifestyle Indicators (or KLIs) based on a robust analysis of anonymous financial data to tag individuals with similar purchasing patterns for the purpose of enhancing customer relationships and building business through highly targeted, high-value marketing. SegmintOne provides the Financial Institution (FI) with the customized groupings and recommends offers that are beneficial for FI customers.
KLIs allow Segmint Financial Institution (FI) clients to market to their customers in a highly effective way. The SegmintOne KLI engine allows FI clients to tag individuals who share common interests or characteristics, enabling the creation of customized product offerings and campaigns. Additionally, the KLI engine allows participating FIs to present customers offers to them save money and time.
Third-party rewards are compelling offers designed specifically to save participating Financial Institution customers time and money based upon their KLIs. Rewards are designed to match third-party offers with customers most likely to be interested in purchasing their services or products at a particular point in time.
Segmint acts as a partner with Financial Institutions (FIs) to recognize trends, triggers and identifiers in the institution’s transaction data. FIs generate unique, anonymous identifiers for each customer. FIs periodically provide transaction data and anonymous identifiers to Segmint to enable KLI identification via secure, encrypted data transfers.
Segmint requires this data to generate KLIs, which enable SegmintOne to tag customers in unique ways, allowing FIs to provide a more customized experience for their customers. These offers automatically save customers money and time.
Segmint will receive transaction information that is organized only by an anonymous identifier, created by participating FIs.
Segmint’s data is located in an industry certified secure facility to ensure state-of-the-art protection with multiple levels of both electronic and physical security. Within Segmint, only a select few technical and data security employees have access to the individual anonymous data records.
No. Segmint does not share individual anonymous data records with any other party, aside from what might be required by law.
Segmint uses the data it collects to classify a Financial Institution’s (FIs) customers using KLIs. Once this process is completed, FIs will be able to offer their customers more compelling, enticing offers and rewards. Real-time updates of transaction data will ensure that the customers’ KLIs will remain current and accurate.
No. Segmint does not reverse engineer anonymous information to determine a person's identity.
No. Even though all data is completely anonymous, Segmint does not share individual data records collected from Financial Institutions with third parties. Third parties will be aware of transaction-based KLIs that they are targeting, but they will not have access to the individual, anonymous data records.
Customers may receive offers from both their financial institutions (FIs) and from other third-party marketers. These offers, which appear on FI web sites and out on the open Internet, will be targeted to customers using specific KLIs. These offers automatically save customers money and time.
Yes. The goal of Segmint’s products is to allow the FI to provide desirable offers to the ideal customers at the appropriate time. FIs have complete control over what offers are provided to which groups of customers.
Customer offers may appear in multiple places. They can appear on the online banking site and the public pages of the web site of the Financial Institution (FI) where the customer has one or more accounts. Depending on the offer and the goal of the offer (for example, a FI seeking to acquire more customers), offers may also appear on web sites other than a FIs web site; specifically on web sites that are expected to appeal to customers who share one or more particular KLIs.
Once a Financial Institution (FI) has implemented Segmint’s software, it will have access to the KLIs of its customers. This information will enable a participating FI to deliver valuable FI and third-party offers to its customers at the most appropriate time for each customer. FI customers benefit by receiving offers that save them time and money - rewards that are more likely to meet their needs and are available to them only through their FI relationship.
Reward offers require customers to click the offer to obtain the reward. Offers are set up by merchants based on their parameters, and these parameters may be different between offers.
Segmint is a data service provider to FIs and does not have direct contact with any individual customers. Segmint tags customers with specific KLIs, but it is up to the FI to cerate and authorize the offer. As a result, individual FIs are responsible to determine how they notify their customers about the marketing of offer selections.
SegmintOne displays offers based on the KLIs of individual customers. Financial Institutions must approve these offers prior to the offers being presented to customers on their site. Because Segmint does not interact directly with customers or know what data records belong to which customer, Segmint does not have a process by which customers can select to receive or decline specific offers.
Customers will be able to utilize a Financial Institution’s (FIs) existing Do Not Solicit policies and procedures to choose to be excluded from offers. This will eliminate the customers ability to have money and time through their FI website.
Segmint adapts Financial Institution (FI) partner policies as its own, custom to each specific FI. Therefore, if a FI customer wants to opt-out of Segmint, he/she should contact his/her FI.
Segmint’s data is located in an industry certified secure facility to ensure state-of-the-art protection with multiple levels of both electronic and physical security.
Within Segmint, only a select few technical and data security employees have access to the individual anonymous data records.
Yes. All Segmint team members work under a strict confidentiality contract and strong privacy policies.
Segmint keeps customer transaction data as long as it has a partnership with the customer’s Financial Institution (FI). Segmint requires access to this data to create and modify KLIs. If a FI terminates its agreement with Segmint, then Segmint is contractually obligated to securely dispose of all of the transaction information obtained from that FI.
Yes, Segmint uses cookies to deliver content on the FI’s public website and on the open Internet. However, the Segmint cookie only verifies that the Internet user is a Segmint partner FI’s customer, and then displays proper advertisements based on that confirmation. This verification allows participating FIs to provide their customers with offers that will save customers money and time in relevant product categories.
Segmint only uses cookies to verify that an Internet user is a Segmint partner Financial Institution’s (FIs) customer. Once this confirmation has been affirmed, the Segmint cookie performs no further action, and the FI can provide customers with relevant product offers that will save the customers money and time.
The Segmint cookie is a unique, random alphanumeric string. The cookie contains no decipherable information, but it does allow partnering Financial Institutions to automatically help their customers save money and time in relevant product categories.
Nothing. Only Segmint has the ability to translate the random alphanumeric string. Segmint cookies uniquely identify anonymous users. Even though each cookie is unique, the user is always anonymous.
No. The Segmint cookie is a standard browser cookie.
No. The Segmint cookie is applied when a user logs into online banking and will customize that user’s overall online experience with pertinent offers that will save him/her money and time. The experience within online banking will still be customized, even if cookies are disabled.
No. Segmint does not sell data. Segmint offers the opportunity for participating FIs and offer providers to use our KLI system in order to know their customers.
